Coloring Book is a new multi-media play written, composed and designed by Ryk. With stark examinations of history, mental illness and race, Coloring Book addresses complex themes in empathetic ways while offering truth, healing and hope.

Will Edwards is a young man who suffers what seems to be a psychotic episode. After being admitted to an inpatient facility he undergoes a new form of art therapy with the hope of unlocking the roots and foundations of his struggles and moving forward with a healthier and more functional outlook on life.

In casting a relatable but direct eye on sources and consequences of trauma, Coloring Book concludes with realistic hope that doesn’t hinge on quixotic happy endings, but instead is grounded in resilience, progress and strength.
